The Addition Quick Change Tooling System reduces the man power and time needed for tooling changeover on bending machines. With it's bend die lift plate it negates the need for wiper or bracket adjustments during tooling change-overs and is much less susceptible to accidental damage. It's tie-bar system incorporates a cam-action release which ensures minimum operator setup time between tool changes. Additionally, it's quick-release tie-bar pin provides for effective tie-bar retraction without the need to remove the tie-bar from the machine.

Addition offers a full range of CNC bending machine tooling solutions, for tubing diameters from 1/4" to 10" and single-stack or multi-stack multi-radius bend dies. We also offer bend die inserts, pressure dies, collets, mandrel assemblies (ball segment and cable style), wiper dies and wiper die holders, with worldwide support for all of your Addition brand family products.

Addition endformers are the result of years of progressive experience with endforming machine design and customer input. We produce a complete line of tube endforming equipment for a variety of applications such as expanding and reducing, sizing, beading, flaring, doming, notching, parting, end trimming, and angle- and radius-cutting, many of them now with our hydra-green technology. The EG-50 RS Rotary Spin Machine and the EG-70 VTPN Vertical Trim Machine with Pre-Notch are part of Addition's new all-electric end-forming product line. The EG-50 RS Rotary Spin Machine, designed for small diameter tubes up to 2”, has been developed in response to customer demands for a more automated and more compact design. With custom tooling designs and simple tooling changeover, this model offers customers versatility and improved production efficiency for flaring, beading, squaring, and deburring. The EG-70 VTPN Vertical Trim Machine combines the proven dependability of the company’s traditional tube trim machine with additional benefits such as reduced power usage and noise, no hydraulic fluid required, and a smaller machine footprint requiring less floor space.

Addition offers a comprehensive range of endforming tooling solutions including segmented tooling, ram and rotary tooling, and notch and part/trim tooling. These tube manipulation solutions can be used for expanding, reducing, sizing, beading, notching and slotting, parting and end-trimming, and flaring.

Our founders originated the tube data center concept over 40 years ago and Addition continues to provide quality tube measurement systems today.

Tube Data Centers

Addition offers two models  of Tube Data Center to meet our customers' most exacting needs, the Vector 1 Series 5 XL and the Laservision Optima XP. Both models incorporate Addition's patented non-contact laser probe for highly accurate tube, pipe and wire measurement and inspection. This design is unique in tube measurement since the entire inspection process is performed optically using visible spectrum lasers. The Vector 1 Series 5 XP is a general purpose, proven instrrument for most applications, while the Laservision Optima is ideal for extreme accurate tube applications such as aircraft tubing. 

Tube Fixture

Addition's experienced design team has developed a unique and patented technology for manufacturing tube fixtures.  Our specialized manufacturing process allows us to provide a large range of proven solutions to deliver accurate and robust tube fixtures, in short lead times, as proven by the more than 3,000 fixtures manufactured and in use around the world.  Upon completion of manufacturing in a CNC environment Addison fixtures are checked and certified with an Addition Laservision Tube Data Center. These fixtures, which are custom designed for any application, can be used to check tube or wire, as well as to weld, cut or assemble components on tubes.  

 

Our extensive experience in tube forming has helped us to develop tube inspection processes for various industry applications. Ideal automotive applications for our checking fixtures include brake lines, air conditioning, power steering, exhaust and
structural components.

After more than 10 years of tube fixture design and manufacture in our Cologne, France facility, Addition is excited to announce that our Tube Fixture product line is now being produced in North America in our Queretaro, Mexico facility.

Addition offers a complete range of highly cost-effective work cell and individual product solutions designed to bring the highest possible standards to the production of muffler and catalytic converter components. The "Eagle" brand muffler machines are suitable for manual loading and unloading or fully automated with robotic transfers. Whatever the size or shape of your muffler requirements, with machining capabilities for muffler shells up to 600mm diameter, you can count on Addition to deliver.

The Addition "Eagle" Brand LXS-1000E is a new series lockseaming machine. A high-speed, compact, self-contained machine for forming round, oval and many asymmetrical muffler shells up to 1000 mm in length.

The base LXS-1000E machine includes a semi-automatic sheet feed table, ergonomically position so that it accepts manually loaded sheets that are fed into the machine against an optional servo adjustable sheet backstop. The new generation electric servo hinged roller assembly grips the sheet between the pressure bar and the forming mandrel as the rollers form the sheet around the mandrel to create the muffler cross section. The new generation of sheet forming arms allow for a wider range of shell cross sections than previous generation systems. The new generation heavy duty electric servo roll carriage is used to form the lockseam and eject the part in one. As the carriage returns, the finished shell is automatically stripped from the mandrel an auto ejected from the machine.

The Addition "Eagle" Brand FLR series flanger is a manually loaded, manually unloaded, dual opposed head, rotary shell flanging machine. This rotary type of flange forming is suitable for round, oval and some irregular shapes.

Lockseamed or welded shells are manually loaded into the machine then the machine cycle is initiated. The shell is clamped and held with pneumatic powered clamp jaws. The jaws are unique three-piece jaws that allow for ergonomic loading and unloading of the shell. The flanging rollers, one top and one bottom, advance forming the near 90 degree flange as the rollers rotate inside the shell, rolling a flange onto each end of the shell. The number of rotations are programmable for improved flange forming. The rollers retract and the clamp jaws release the part for the operator to remove the flanged shell from the machine. A servo electrical vertical drive feature is used for quick adjustment and ease of unloading the finished parts. Tool change is very quick via the use of a tool-less quick change jaws.

The Addition "Eagle" Brand GMS-VBAS is a compact all-electric vertical double-ended baffle stuffing machine with Lower Tool Ridgelock feature. The machine is fully programmable with part recall for shell length, loading positions and stuffing position. The machine is manually loaded but can be programmed in a variety of ways to ease the loading process including pre-load positions for the upper and lower baffle inserts and the muffler shell. A manual clamp retains the muffler shell during the stuffing process is notched for the body seam to prevent the operator from loading the shell in the wrong orientation. The tooling is quick change and the machine comes standard with a part recall feature for quick set up.

The Addition "Eagle" Brand GMS-VS 350E series cap spinning machine is a manually loaded, manually unloaded, dual opposed head all electric cap spinning machine used for mechanically locking muffler end caps onto pre-flanged muffler shells. This machine is fully programmable with program part storage for the setting shell length, rotational speed and seam forming roller advance rate. The machine is suitable for round cross sections as well as most common oval and irregular shaped cross sections. This machine is suitable to spin high ratio ovals.

The cap spinning machine is unique. The high force spinning process is accomplished without cams, linkages or traditional spinner arms which improves part quality and greatly improves the machine durability for heavy duty production.

The Addition "Eagle" Brand RLK 375 Ridgelocking Machines can be supplied in either vertical or horizontal formats. The RLK family of ridgelocks are designed for flexibility and quick tool change. This RLK -375V vertical ridgelock has our new generation “light weight” tool design concept. The ridgelock head is mounted vertically (tooling pointed upward) with the tube / baffle nest mounted above the head. On the RLK 375V the ridgelock tooling is hydraulically powered and the tube / baffle nest is servo electric powered with a ballscrew. This powered nest slide sits above the tooling area and moves the preloaded nested tube/baffle(s) (maximum 3 baffles, 3 tubes - 9 ridgelocks) over the tooling arbors for ridgelocking. Once ridgelocked the powered nest slide retracts to the load, unload position for manual removal of the ridgelocked sub assembly. Note, the machine can also be supplied with tool mounts to suit the traditional Eagle RLK 375 tooling.

Robot automated ridgelock cells are now available for high volume production. This is the next step in low cost high volume production.

The Addition "Eagle" Brand new generation LXS 1000E is the latest in lockseamer technology with servo electric and pneumatic motions of all the key machine functions. The machine is designed for maximum part flexibility and quick change. This is the design standard for the all new generation Eagle-brand silencer manufacturing equipment.

Our complete range of Eagle muffler tooling solutions include, but are not limited to, tooling for lockseamers, SRSW’s, ram and “FLO” style flangers, baffle stuffers, ridgelocking equipment, cap assembly and cap seaming machines.
